The Archive

The Thomas H Manning Polar Archives at Scott Polar Research Institute  hold one of the largest collections of manuscript and other unpublished material relating to the Arctic and Antarctic regions, and to the many persons who have worked there.

Principle collections include those for Captain Scott, Sir Ernest Shackleton and Sir John Franklin. We hold a number of ships logs and expediton records including the British Graham Land Expedition, 1934-37

For those wishing to carry out research in the archives please note that as space in the reading room is limited access is by prior appointment only.
